RG Rhein-Main-Neckar 23.07.: “Paradigms, Pandemics & Power: Lessons for Intercultural Communication Theory & Practice”

Im 6. Teil der “Moving Online” Series der Regionalgruppe Rhein-Main-Neckar wird Prof. Milton J. Bennett in einem Webinar über “Paradigms, Pandemics & Power: Lessons for Intercultural Communication Theory & Practice” sprechen.

“The disruptive covid-19 pandemic has exposed a broader section of society to long- existing issues of social injustice, resulting in dramatically more powerful demands for counteracting a legacy of colonialism and racism. But there is another disruption fueling these demands, and we neglect it at the risk of losing this opportunity for social change.  We are on the crest of a paradigm shift — a fundamental change in the way that we understand reality. Previous paradigm shifts have been dangerous times, fraught with conspiracies and virulent nostalgia, and this one seems no exception. As practicing interculturalists, we can resist the temptation to do more of the same, more strongly, and direct our efforts into the game-changing new paradigm.”

Dr. Milton J. Bennett  directs the Intercultural Development Research Institute located in the USA and Italy (www.idrinstitute.org).
