Together with Arjan Verdooren, we warmly invite you to our webinar, where we will present TOPOI GPT – our newly developed AI tool based on the TOPOI model. Many of you are probably already familiar with the TOPOI model. The TOPOI model enables appropriate communication in contexts in which people perceive each other as belonging to different groups and exhibit different, unfamiliar habits, behaviors or beliefs.
The AI working group started in 2023. Many thanks to Stephan Rupert, who has programmed a ChatGPT chatbot, based on this model in close collaboration with Alexander Frame, Edwin Hoffman and Arjan Verdooren. Our chatbot develops a reflection of a case, hypotheses about the possible causes of misunderstandings and problems based on a given case study description, and the bot suggests potential interventions based on the TOPOI model.
In this webinar, Arjan Verdooren will first introduce the TOPOI Model, GPT. Yusuf Altınışık will introduce an example “critical incident” to get everybody on board to learn about the tool. In the following we would like to give you the opportunity to try out the bot with your own cases and give us direct feedback in the webinar to further develop our chatbot. Our goal is to further optimize the bot based on your feedback before making it available to interculturalists and practitioners free of charge.
Important information
- Each participant should have access to ChatGPT and bring an own case study or a case study from someone else. The case study is a description of the course of a difficult conversation in which cultural or religious differences, misunderstandings play a role. After registering you’ll receive further instructions how to describe the case study.
- No knowledge of AI or the TOPOI model is required – we look forward to seeing anyone who brings curiosity and a case.
- The number of participants is limited to 30 to enable interactive work.
