Charlotta Brynger

In the honorable role of representing Direct Members on the SEU board, I would bring a high level of engagement, a positive outlook and my ability to think outside the box to find new paths and opportunities. I would use and share from my accumulated professional experience, with emphasis on my experience in the intercultural field, where I have been an independent consultant for soon eight years.

Contributing to the Direct membership in SIETAR Europa, would be an obvious focus, but also committing to use my capacity to add value to the organization as such.
My professional experience in brief:

I have worked in administrative roles, for instance in Health Care, in the corporate world and also in an NGO for Information professionals – IFLA, in The Hague, Netherlands. In the latter instance holding the role of Membership Officer.

I have later worked as Project Manager at Gothenburg Convention Bureau, mainly with focus on Universities and NGOs. In 2012 I became an intercultural consultant with the main focus on corporate clients; teams and leaders, am working closely with the Chamber of Commerce and service their members involved in international trade and mobility. I am a guest lecturer for Master students in Communication at the University of Gothenburg, as well as Adjunct Faculty at Ashridge Hult International Business School. Currently I am involved in a research project under the helm of Ashridge Hult, and in cooperation with the Univ. of Gothenburg, testing and validating an intercultural competence and cooperation model that I have developed through my experiences in intercultural training sessions.

As the current head of communications, I believe it would be very helpful to be in the board so that communication between the board and the communication committee is fast, clear and transparent. Regarding my skills, I have gone through an intensive learning experience volunteering at SIETAR in terms of knowledge about the organization and also hard and soft skills. From my first congress as congress assistant to the last congress where I had to deal with everything related to communications. My experience with SIETAR has allowed me to excel my organizational, problem-solving and communication skills, including - among them - cross-cultural competences.
With 23 years, my most relevant professional experience are my volunteer positions at SIETAR (Congress assistant at SIETAR Europa & SIETAR Austria, member of the Communication Committee of SEU, Head of Communications of SEU & SIETAR Russia Event, Head of Communications of SEU and the SEUCongress2019) where I got gradually more involved since 2015. After completing my double bachelor of International Business and International Management between Spain and Germany, I worked as an International Sales Manager for a software German company in Hamburg. In August 2018, I started my master in Intercultural and International Communication at American University in Washington DC with a Fulbright scholarship, which I am currently studying until graduating in May 2020. At the same time, I have hold different volunteer positions at the Graduate Student Council until being elected President last May, and I have been working as a research assistant for a professor focused on transnational gangs and social order in Guatemala.

I'm interested in joining the Board to gain better understanding of SIETAR's strengths and opportunities, to see what has been working well and what could be even better, to hopefully, contribute to further development of the organisation and suggest & support changes that would lead to its upgrade, and also to benefit from cooperation with like-minded people.
